Marathon Season

I spend about as much time running as I do writing poetry… actually it’s way more at the moment. So this post is an attempt to redress the balance. And what better way to do it than a running poem?!

Running - especially distance running - is easy to get swept up in. The fitness, adrenaline and post-run snacks are pretty addictive. Then there’s the running buddies. These people with whom you share your thoughts, worries, memories and poo stories. And those are the ones you’ve only run with for a mile or two!

I’ll be pounding the streets of London once again on Sunday 2nd October. Then again on the Dorset coastal path at the end of November. That’ll be my first trail marathon. Slippery slope…
